"Hey." Mike paused for a moment as he watched the daughter reunite with he father after five days of separation.

Her hazel eyes bored into his, so much like her mother. "You killed another one."
That had been a statement, she knew, like her mother too. Fullon sighed. Amera looked away, "I thought you were supposed to do a recon mission?"
"Yes."
"Then why the Nightstalker cuts?"
"..." he kept his silence. Ever since her mother died, he had taken to taking care and loving her. Now, so many years, they understood each other without speech. And now, he could feel her gaze searching his features.
"Dad..."
He clutched her tightly before pushing her away to get a full view, "Well, looks like Uncle Mike and Jenson took care of you well."
Forgetting her anxiety for a moment, she grinned wickedly, "Wait till you see the bill."

He gulped. For any bills to come from his two best friends was uncommon. This was starting to look bad..
