the imagery was gruesome. bodies with arms wide apart, tied to the walls or otherwise strewn across the pews. the carcasses were wrinkly and dry in appearance and notably, purple in colour. apparently the bodies had been left here for a few days. taking pictures of the scene, i began to pack my equipment.

"halt!" a voice stopped me in my tracks.

a breeze blew through from the windows of the church. i instinctively turned my body around. the entrance slammed shut. immediately standing up, i took a defensive stance, cautious of the newly arrived danger.

"what's been seen here... will not reach anyone else!"

something rooted me to the floor.
